MEDEWSa Featured in UNFCCC’s 2025 Report on AI for Climate Action

We are proud to share that the MEDEWSa project has been featured in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change’s new publication, Artificial Intelligence for Climate Action: Advancing Mitigation and Adaptation in Developing Countries (UNFCCC, July 2025).
This technical paper recognizes MEDEWSa as a best-practice example in harnessing AI and Earth observation for anticipatory climate risk management.

This landmark report highlights the transformative role of AI in enabling climate adaptation and mitigation across developing countries, especially in regions most vulnerable to climate impacts.

As part of this effort, MEDEWSa presented the case study on Ethiopia, showcasing how AI-powered early warning systems can identify communities at risk and support proactive disaster preparedness. This contribution demonstrates our commitment to real-world, inclusive, and data-driven climate resilience—especially in collaboration with local institutions
